Weekend Tiling Course – Learn to Tile with Confidence

Practical, hands-on tiling for beginners, DIYers and home renovators

Whether you’re planning your own bathroom or kitchen project, renovating a property, or simply want to learn how to tile properly, our two-day weekend course will give you the practical skills and confidence to get started.

Delivered in small groups at KBS Skills Academy in Birkenhead, you’ll spend the weekend actually working with tiles, tools and materials rather than sitting in a classroom.

No previous experience is needed.

Course Overview

Our beginner-friendly weekend course takes you through the fundamentals of wall and floor tiling from preparation through to the finished result.

You’ll learn practical techniques that you can use on your own projects, with guidance from experienced industry professionals throughout.

You’ll have plenty of opportunity to practise, ask questions and build your confidence in a relaxed, supportive training environment.

What You Will Learn

• Preparing walls and floors ready for tiling
• Planning your layout and setting out correctly
• Choosing and mixing tile adhesive
• Applying adhesive correctly
• Laying wall and floor tiles
• Measuring and cutting tiles
• Working around edges and obstacles
• Grouting and finishing
• Removing and replacing damaged tiles
• Re-grouting and refreshing existing tiled areas
• Useful tips for maintaining tiled surfaces
• Common DIY tiling mistakes – and how to avoid them

This is a practical course, so expect to get hands-on!

Tools and materials are provided for use during the course and we’ll guide you through each stage at a comfortable pace.
